Christopher von Jako brings extensive leadership and experience in the global medical device market with a specific expertise in image guided technologies. He has spent over 20 years focusing on the development and commercialization of image-guided techniques to improve patient experience and outcomes. Most recently, Chris was the President and CEO of NeuroTherm, a medical device company that develops, manufactures, and markets state-of-the-art image-guided solutions for pain management. He successfully executed the divesture of NeuroTherm with his team in August 2014 to St. Jude Medical. Prior to that, Chris was the President of ActiViews, a privately held medical device company, which developed and marketed minimally invasive tools for Interventional Radiology. Prior to this, he worked in senior management positions at Integra LifeSciences, Covidien, Medtronic, and Radionics. Chris holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Pécs Medical School, a MS in Radiological Sciences and Technology from the department of Nuclear Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a double BS degree in Physics and Mathematics from Bates College.
Judy Huber brings to NinePoint Medical more than 25 years of financial experience, predominately in the medical device industry. Prior to joining NinePoint, Judy served as chief financial officer of ConforMIS, Inc., where she was an integral member of the leadership team that created the foundation for the operational and commercial strategy of the company’s patient-specific knee replacement systems. Prior to ConforMIS, she served as vice president and controller at NxStage Medical. In this role, she was instrumental in building the financial and administrative infrastructure that led to the company's initial public offering, secondary financing and acquisition of Medisystems Corporation. Judy also spent more than nine years in various financial positions with C.R. Bard through the acquisition by AVE/Medtronic, where she supported multiple divisions focused on improving the economic efficiencies in their manufacturing operations. Judy holds a B.S. in accounting from the State University of New York at Geneseo and an M.B.A. from Babson College.
Patrick MacCarthy has more than 10 years of marketing and sales expertise within the medical device and technology sectors. Mr. MacCarthy joined NinePoint Medical from Olympus America, Inc., where he was an integral member of the leadership team for Olympus’ flagship medical device and equipment business. Most recently, Mr. MacCarthy was vice president of marketing, responsible for marketing and strategic planning in the endoscopy division. Prior to that, he held positions of increasing responsibility at Olympus, including vice president / business unit leader and executive director of marketing, both in the endotherapy division. Mr. MacCarthy holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Colorado School of Mines.
Eman Namati brings to NinePoint Medical extensive scientific and technical expertise in the field of medical imaging. Prior to joining NinePoint, Eman was a post-doctoral research fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School working with Profs. Gary Tearney and Brett Bouma on the development of Optical Frequency Domain Imaging. He has authored and coauthored over 50 scientific publications, abstracts and book chapters in the fields of signal processing, computed tomography, multi-modal imaging and biomedical optics. In addition, he has numerous patents related to optical imaging technologies. Eman holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering through a dual program with Flinders University Australia and the University of Iowa as an APA(Australian Post-graduate award) and ISATNA(Iowa/South Australian Transnational Alliance) fellowship recipient. He received a double undergraduate degree in Engineering (BE) and Science (BSc) from Flinders University Australia.
Heather Reed brings extensive experience in the global life sciences market. Prior to joining NinePoint Medical, she was Vice President, Quality & Regulatory Affairs at St. Jude Medical where she managed the business integration of NeuroTherm into the Chronic Pain Therapies division. Heather was formerly the Vice President, Global Quality and Regulatory Affairs and Chief Compliance Officer at NeuroTherm, a medical device company that marketed state-of-the-art image-guided solutions for pain management. She has over 16 years of experience in quality and regulatory affairs from several large and well-establish medical device companies. Before joining NeuroTherm, Heather was employed by ThermoFisher Scientific as the Director of Quality and Regulatory Affairs. She also held positions at BD Biosciences, Millipore, and Siemens Diagnostics. Heather holds a MBA from Rivier University, and a BS degree in Biology from Framingham State University.
Michael Jesi has over 25 years of experience in the high-tech, high-growth medical device product industry. He has spent the last 7+ years with GE Healthcare - Specialty MR, as the Director of Operations introducing new high-field (1.5 Tesla) dedicated purpose MRI systems for extremity imaging to the market place. Prior to that he lead the development activities at endoVia Medical, as Vice President of Product Development, responsible for product design and manufacturing for the user console and sterilized single use instrumentation for robotic laparoscopic minimally invasive surgical procedures. Michael also spent over 8 years with Arrow International as Director of Engineering/Product Development for Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps and Catheters. His duties also included RA/QA responsibilities. Michael started his career at Puritan-Bennett Corporation where he spent 12 years as a Mechanical Design Engineer as well as Operation Manager developing and manufacturing respiratory diagnostic instruments and patient monitoring equipment. Michael holds a BS in Engineering from Northeastern University.
Ken O’Brien has over twenty years of experience developing software for a variety of instrumentation systems. Prior to joining NinePoint Medical, Ken was Director of Software Engineering at InfraReDx, Inc. which developed a novel catheter based instrument for detecting lipid rich plaques in coronary arteries. Prior to that, he managed a team responsible for developing the control software for a series of tandem time-of-flight (TOF) mass spectrometry instruments developed by Applied Biosystems. Ken holds a BS degree in biomedical engineering from Boston University and MS degrees in biomedical and electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
